Standard Indonesian Business Field Classifications (KBLI)

Based on the Standard Indonesian Business Field Classifications (KBLI), the laundry business has a KBLI code of 96200, namely Laundry Activities. This code covers service businesses in the form of:

  1. The business of washing and dry cleaning services, laundry, dyeing and filling of finished textile goods (including animal fur skins) and other textiles for household and individual industrial purposes, is carried out with mechanical equipment, whether operated by hand or with coins, such as tablecloths, bed sheets, carpets, as well as clothing and finished textile goods. Including washing (shampooing) carpets, and rugs and curtains;
  2. Laundry collection and delivery services; services for providing linen, work uniforms and other goods related to laundry; as well as
  3. Repair and alteration or minor alteration of clothing or other textiles related to washing.

Risk Level

Laundry business and all Business Fields within the Scope of Activities of KBLI 96200 are allocated to Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as regulated in Presidential Regulation no. 49 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Presidential Regulation No. 10 of 2021 concerning the Investment Business Sector.

So that the laundry business has a low level of risk based on an assessment of the level of danger, an assessment of the potential for hazards and the rating of the scale of business activities. As regulated in Article 12 paragraph (1) Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2021 concerning Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing, Business Licensing for activities with a low-risk level, namely in the form of a Business Identification Number (NIB) which is the identity of business actors as well as legality to carry out business activities. Therefore, for those of you who are interested in starting a laundry business, you must first take care of your NIB through the Online Single Submission (OSS) website.

Business Licensing Obligations

The business licensing obligations for laundry business actors include:

  1. Apply K3L standards or management standards for health, safety, and the environment around the workplace when starting business activities;
  2. Submit a report on business activities to the Central Government (every 1 (one) year, in January no later than the 15th (fifteenth)); and
  3. Own or control a place of business with a correct, permanent and clear address (when starting business activities).
